Last week for half term school holiday we went for our 1st ever family camping “adventure”. We never went camping when I was a kid & my wife and I dabbled in it pre child birth. It was mostly fun & cheap.
Owing to our children’s capacity to annoy the hell out of us by waking 4.30-in the morning and the wet, cool weather it was not fun last week. The highlight for me was the cycle down to Rutland water to make the most of the dry 2 hour spell that we were privileged to experience. In September, we’re gonna go back, just the 2 of us to cycle the 25km circuit around Europes largest water reservoir.
This last weekend has been better in every sense. Its sunny AND warm! Tonight will be the 4th BBQ dinner in a row AND the BlackCaps are smashing the English, finally showing their ability after a dire Test series.
After my restful week of only 24km on the bike last week my body is ready for a step up to 2 rides to work. It was tough to stop after 24km today in this sunshine with these views.
I could’ve done twice that but the forecast is great for the next week and have a number of routes to work down quiet country lanes and sleepy villages.
Yep, life is good right now…
