Tiredness

Our ride home from school on Thursday took longer than expected. The 9km trip took an epic 2 hours but that was mainly due to a 45 minute stay at the Nags Head because of the exciting playground equipment in the beer garden. I also discovered that its slower with 2 of the boys than just the one.

On his 1st ever ride home from school, Leo, 7 in August announced after a steep off road climb,”I’m tired Daddy”. We were 3 km from home starting the flat off-road and the most pleasant stage. It was getting dark and I was keen to get back ASAP to get their dinner into them at a reasonable hour. I found myself adapting a saying about pain to my advantage, “don’t worry, tiredness is just weakness leaving your body. It’s flat all the way back and you can do it”.

That did the trick but it’s taken a while for him to recognise that being tired at bedtime doesn’t count…

  1. Hello,
I’m working on a new set of bike hotels GiroHotels http://www.girohotels.it, in Italy, Cesenatico. The birthplace of Marco Pantani.
We would like to show Cesenatico, and our bike hotel in your country. We would like to cooperate with you. We can hold you here in exchange for posts in your blog or other kind of collaboration.
    Are you interested?

    Best regards
    Matteo Gozzoli
