It’s been a week of having to rely on the car to get to work. Don’t get me wrong, there’s been advantages:
1- I could sleep an extra 30min in the morning but my body clock is set to wake at 5.45 anyway so I don’t.
2- I get to listen to the radio in the car & his morning had a treat as was able to Bluetooth music on my phone to the car stereo. Telegraph Road, I didn’t realise it but I’ve missed you!<a href=”
3- While the days are warmer it’s still cold in the mornings & evenings. This morning was a 4 layer morning and that was in the car!
But these aren’t even a bucket in an ocean of advantages of commuting by bike. I have noticed that I feel no more “rested” having a week of enforced layoff from my usual 100 miles per week target. But I suspect from reading others posts that I will feel stronger, less jaded as a result. So I’m pining for the weekend when Scott brings Doris back.
I’m looking forward to not having to contend with this next week.
But at least I’ve managed to get away with not paying the parking tariff at all. It seems that the cool temperatures have limited the parking wardens usual enthusiasm for their job. I could call them facists as they wear black but I’ll be kind because they remind me more of reptiles with uniforms given their absence of activity the cold…
