It was colder this morning (0°C). I prepared with 4 layers* and was toasty by the time I took off for Mass on the way to work. The cold NE breeze was behind me and I found the rhythm that I lacked yesterday.

*Actually it’s 3.5 layers. My merino mid layer seems to have more holes than fibre

The ride home avoided the hail and showers from earlier and the weather app showed that the gentle wind had turned around to help push me home. Instead it was a crosswind and I felt like a knife slicing through frozen butter. Slow and tortuous.

I have to drive to Cambridge for a study day/”networking event” so the legs will get a rest and I get to hide from tomorrow mornings mist and -4°C temperatures. But it’s no matter. Looking at my Strava stats, I have ridden 119 times in 93 days so far this year. Yep, I am 128% committed to riding a bike…
