23rd May

I woke feeling tired but had to head out early to take my rear wheel to Dave for fixing. I was first there but he had forgotten our conversation yesterday. Poor guy is working himself real hard. I spent the rest of the morning sweeping floors and taking the doggie out followed by lunch making and making the beef burgers from scratch.

I then used the excuse of no burger buns in the freezer to go for a spin to the shop to turn my legs over with the intention of reading some more to complete my assignment. My lecturer, mega-efficient, sent me her comments on Friday evening. So much for a couple of rest days…I downloaded a couple of chapters of a text to address one of the points and read. Or at least scanned it while I submitted to the ball bully, intermittently throwing the tennis ball for her while I struggled with how to make a knowledgeable point relating to surface v deep learning.

There were too many distractions, in particular evolving stories of the unelected, unaccountable lead $#¡T bag advising Govt. lock down policy not sticking to what the rest of us have had to endure. Having woken tired and grumpy, this really sent me near the edge. I left it until the evening to read some more and get back to my essay but couldn’t really concentrate. I opened the laptop, then my essay, started my iPad to read more of surface v deep learning but discovered that my mind was blank. Instead I opened YouTube and relived my teens watching highlights of the World Series Cup tri-series from 1982/83. It was a great escape from current events. Hopefully tomorrow will give me more clarity.
