I like Mondays. They are my day off. I usually ride more getting two in after and before the school run but that hasn’t been a thing since the C-word entered our lives. I was up early and went doggie walking before it got too hot. After 5km she was well and truly cooked and I returned to find both boys getting stuck into their on-line school work. I put the ingredients into the slow cooker for chilli later in the evening and wasted too much time plotting a short route before I had to be home for a digital meeting for work. I extended my 8km errand ride by only 3km, thats all the time I had.
After my meeting, I made harissa chicken sandwiches from last night’s excellent dinner and got stuck into the gardening out the front. I have lacked the time this Spring and it is looking tatty, overgrown and tired. After lifting and dividing the bulbs, I hacked the winter flowering clematis away from the drainpipe, loosened the soil and mulched in compost. I then planted half the bulbs into pots for transition to the new house. If we don’t move, the daffs will look good anyway in their new blue pot next Spring.
After 40 winks, I went out on another spin to get my mileage up. I need all the opportunity that I can grab to get as close to 2500 miles for the year so far by months end. I may not get there but should be able to get 500 miles done which is a primo monthly distance for me. On target for 5,000 miles for 2020 anyway if I keep smashing the roads and trails like I have been in the glorious weather that we’ve been having over the last 2 months. At least I’ve been keeping away from others unlike the Covidiots crowding and littering the beaches lately.
Then it was home to Chilli con Carne, corn chips and salad dining al fresco on a warm sunny evening. Afterwards I submitted my assignment for an originality report. It is counting the words in the tables so I emailed my lecturer with a final draft for clarification. My understanding is that tables are not included in the overall word count but it wouldn’t be the first time that I am wrong.
All that work and sun, I was knackered and in bed by 10, ready for another work week ahead.
